Laurie Swedroe

Laurie is a graduate of Tulane University where she earned her Master of Architecture Degree. While still in school, she initiated her career by working summers for renowned Fort Lauderdale landscape architect Walter Taft Bradshaw. Upon graduation, Laurie joined her father’s internationally famous firm, Robert M. Swedroe Architects & Planners, which specializes in multi-residential design.

Over the years, Laurie served as a team member for many of the firm’s projects, including, but not limited to, the majority of the buildings in Williams Island, Acqualina at Sunny Islands Beach, and all of the residential towers at The Point at Aventura. Among other tasks was research for senior designers regarding styles, interviewing disciplines to work on projects, and selecting fine finish materials and appliances for luxury buildings.

As a team member, she also worked on design plans for such successful projects at the Blue and Green Diamonds on Miami Beach, assisting buyers in space planning combination apartments and coordinating space revisions in others from existing condition to new layouts. After becoming a registered architect in 1996 in the State of Florida as well as Nevada, Laurie served as a team member on such major projects as Turnberry Towers and Turnberry Place, Turnberry Associates’ first ventures in Las Vegas. Laurie works with clients from architectural concept design to construction documents as well as Design Review Board approvals and selection of all interior finishes.

Currently, Laurie under her partnership, completed projects are single-family homes, apartment renovations and remodeling as well as commercial build-out spaces. Laurie has been a member of the American Institute of Architects since 1996 and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards since 1998.

In addition to her architectural degrees, Laurie has been a real estate agent since 1991 and has been associated with Coldwell Banker and currently with Beachfront Realty.
