A Crown-jewel of this type of Architectural Master Planning is the City of Aventura, (Miami, FL) where Swedroe Architects & Planners have designed numerous developments and over 121 buildings.
It began 50 years ago when Donald Soffer arrived in South Florida with a vision and unwavering determination. Acting purely on instinct, Soffer purchased a 785-acre tract of submerged, undeveloped swamp and marshland facing the Intracoastal Waterway in North Dade County. From little more than a sketch on a cocktail napkin, we began building his vision.
He began building Aventura.
Over the next 50 years, Soffer transformed that land into the world-famous Turnberry Isle Yacht, Racquet & Country Club, Aventura Mall and hundreds of luxury condominium developments and class “A” office buildings.
Today, Aventura is one of Florida’s most prestigious addresses and bears a strong resemblance to that napkin sketch drawn in 1967 by Mr. Soffer.
Swedroe Architects & Planners have designed over 60 buildings in the Aventura area alone, with several buildings being part of larger multi-phase community developments.

We have also completed multi-phase condo projects in Las Vegas, New York, Maryland and other states, including several cities elsewhere in Florida.
The original Turnberry Isle, Yacht, and Racquet Club is part of the overall development project that included a country club, golf course, and hotel. Over time, it evolved into the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa, a multi-faceted luxury destination.
The Turnberry Isle Yacht & Racquet Club was established as an ultra luxury development as the city of Aventura grew consisting of four high rise towers known as the North Tower, South Tower, Turnberry Towers and Marina Tower as well as the Marina Hotel and numerous amenity spaces including beautiful dining, expansive spa facilities, world class tennis center, world famous Turnberry Disco and more.
The development set a new standard for luxury living attracting celebrities and savvy business clientele from around the globe.
